Bonjour!    Zdravo!    Ciao!    Welcome to my world... Céad Míle Fáilte! 

I am Kat Connor, Photographer - Artist - Illustrator.  Specializing in Fine Art Photography - Portraits & Prints.  Black & White, Fine Art Grunge, Portraits, Family, Wedding, Travel, Destination, & Theme Photography.  I also work in my studio with different mediums to craft fine art photography suitable for home or office. Inspired by my father. Stirred by his spirit.  Motivated by love.

Born in New York, my father's military career gifted to me a fabulous (and sometimes trying) childhood of being raised in exotic locations around the world.  He imparted to me a love of history & photography and filled me with a sense of wonder at all life has to offer. 

With roots in Nova Scotia and Ontario, my husband added to my itchy feet by taking me to the Great White North and the Maritime.  While we settled down for a few years to raise our family, the desire to travel never really went away.  And, even though we took the children [all of whom inherited their grandfather's love of cameras & photography - it's a family affair!] across the United States and Canada, now that they are all in college and out on their own, the itch is getting stronger again [calamine lotion just doesn't cut it!].  While one is local [also a professional photographer!], one is in Texas and another is in Alaska  So, I have a lot of getting to get to! 

Recently, my time has been split between a home-base in Orlando, Florida, and Fairbanks, Alaska, working as a photographer & writer.  I can shoot and write from anywhere, so whenever I am able to break away, I do.  Fine Art Photography and traveling go hand-in-hand as the popularity of "Destination-Themed" photography has grown.  Besides, traveling lends itself to research work in lineage and historical memoir writing.  Absolutely brilliant!  Most of my wanderlust centers around architectural & military history, archaeological sits, geologic wonders, water, animals, heritage, old books & manuscripts [which I unequivocally adore], and genealogy, but I also absolutely LOVE exploring culture, food, and fashion [SO inspired by my Dad].  You’ll find a lot of travel reflections in my Diary, too!  Join me at TheMerryWanderer.Blog and come along on this fantastical journey we call Life.
